White Veal Meat Packers Recalls Veal Liver

Canadian establishment White Veal Meat Packers is voluntarily recalling Veal Liver as it may have been contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

The product associated with the recall is Veal Liver that was sold from 31 July 2013 to 9 August 2013, inclusive across Quebec.

These recalled products were sold from the following retail stores: Boucherie Al Khair Inc., 428 av. Lafleur, Lasalle; Boucherie Al Khair Inc., 1550 boul. Daniel Johnson, Laval; Boucherie Al Khair Inc., 300 rue Jean-Talon E, Montréal; and Les Caprices d'Al-Adhba Inc., 2235 rue Saint-Rémi, Laval.

The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall, which is classified as Class 1 health hazard. No illnesses have been reported associated with the recall.

E. coli O157:H7 is a deadly bacterium that can cause bloody diarrhea, dehydration, and in the most severe cases, kidney failure.
