Three apartments in the historic center of Moscow became one

To meet the needs of a large family, FORM turned three existing apartments into one in the historic center of Moscow. Their main objective was create an apartment that felt like an extension of the family while making it feel calm and welcoming.

Throughout the apartment, a fairly subdued palette was implemented to encourage a calm, soothing environment. Shades of aquamarine paired with oak wood are predominate, along with details in bronzed brass, natural stones, and wool textiles. There are a lot of touches of various shades of green in every room and space as the owners like it. The décor style is modern and very comfortable, the apartment looks very inviting – this is what’s important for a family with children.

A long hallway divides the private spaces with the public ones and while open floor plans are common these days, the family wanted to create the most functional layout possible.

The living room is not very big yet very cozy: the shades of mint and charcoal grey perfectly blend with beige and warm-colored wood.

The kitchen is rather small and narrow but the space is very functional and it’s enough to cook there. The dining space is larger, with statement lamps over it: as there are many people in the family, everyone should get a place at this large table.

An office off the hallway is surrounded by framed panels of glass that make a bold statement.

The bedrooms are simple with scaled back decor and built-in shelves and cabinets for storage.

There are some oversized art works in various rooms, all of them are watercolor-inspired and look really soothing. Most of the furniture is modern but there are some pretty mid-century modern pieces that give the spaces a refined look.
